Core Aeration

Wheaton Core Aeration
Over time the surface of your lawn can become tightly compacted and covered with dense thatch  ( a layer of dead stems and roots).  When this happens much of the food and water that your lawn needs to stay healthy can’t penetrate the surface.  Core aeration helps to correct these conditions by mechanically removing soil cores at appropriate intervals.  Of all the things that build a healthy, thick lawn, aeration is second only to fertilizing.
  • Helps root development by reducing soil compaction
  • Improves water, fertilizer and air movement into the soil
  • Promotes decomposition of the thatch layer
  • Improves rooting in sodded lawns
